Steph Roth gave a presentation about Prince Edward Pickleball (PEP) at our June 24 Rotary meeting.
PEP is a working group looking to build dedicated pickleball courts in Picton. They are current conducted fundraising events and cultivating community partnerships to support the project. So far they have raised $157376.91.
Their plan is to build a six-court facility at Delhi Park along Lalor Street . The project has been approved by Council with an estimated cost of $600,000. The facility would include washrooms, parking lights and security. PEP is applying for a Provincial grant that would cover 50% of the cost. Ultimately PEP would like Rotary to support this project.
After several questions from the members, VP Murray thanked Steph for her presentation and that we would make a donation to Polio Plus on her behalf.
