Ca$h Calendars

Proceeds benefit our local community, with a chance to win a piece of $9000's in cash prizes drawn every month!

The Cause

This year Picton Rotary made an historic decision: to make the Prince Edward Memorial Hospital Building Fund the sole recipient of proceeds from the sales of the 2021 Cash Calendars.

We also planned to sell a record number of calendars, which we achieved.  Some of that success was by exploiting a new market. Our partners Home Hardware, Canadian Tire, Bailey’s  Casual Dining and The Farm Centre allowed us the use of their parking lots for the sale of Cash Calendars to weekend shoppers.

The result of tremendous sales effort was the donation of $20,000 toward the building of the new hospital.

PICTON, February 24, 2021 - Even though fences are the theme of the Picton Rotary 2021 cash calendar, the decision to support the new hospital campaign wasn’t something a local business owner needed to sit on the fence about.

Heather VanVlack, owner of Printcraft in Picton, was quick toend 2020 on a positive note by helping the Rotary Club of Picton and the Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation Back the Build for a new hospital by matching all cash calendar sales at the store.

In an effort to help raise funds for the new hospital, the Rotary Club of Picton designated 100 per cent of the proceeds fromtheir 2021 cash calendar sales to PECMHF.

Printcraft sold 63 calendars, which are sold for $20.00 each. With Printcraft’s matched gift, $2,460 was raised through calendar sales for the new hospital campaign.

“I am County born and raised. My husband and I have raised our children here and we believe the new build will be great to have to sustain our growing community,” said VanVlack. “Rotary has always been a supporter of Printcraft, and so has the hospital foundation. We just wanted to try and give a little boost to help both Rotary and PECMHF Back the Build,” said VanVlack.

Printcraft has been printing and selling Picton Rotary cash calendars since they were first produced in 2008.

“Printcraft has been a terrific partner for years in helping us produce the Rotary Cash Calendar and the sale of calendars from their retail desk. This year, Heather and her staff really stepped up to the plate with their matching offer,” said Grant Reynolds, chairperson of the Picton Rotary cash calendar committee.

“We all know the saying “time flies”, but this year, turning the page on the calendar each month never felt so good,” said Shannon Coull, executive director of the PECMH Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Picton Rotary and Printcraft on this wonderful initiative that helps to ensure the future of health care delivery in the County remains vibrant and strong. The funds will help the foundation get one step closer to building a new hospital in Prince Edward County.”

The Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation is a charitable organization whose mission is to raise money to advance health care for the patients of the hospital and the people of Prince Edward County.

Jamie Yeo owner of Picton Sobeys once again demonstrates his ongoing support for our community including “BACK THE BUILD” for the new Picton Hospital. Jamie volunteered to purchase 50 Rotary Cash Calendars ($1000.00) when he heard all funds raised were going to “BACK THE BUILD”. Thanking Jamie for his generous contribution from left to right are Shannon Coull Executive Director PECMH, Jamie Yeo, Briar Boyce Senior Development Officer PECMH, Past Presidents Rotary Club of Picton, Rick Jones, and Bob Bird
